Bill Deramus is the President of Capstone Management Services and has primary responsibilities for oversight of the company’s management services with a singular focus on delivering strong operating results for ownership.
Mr. Deramus brings a unique blend of ownership, independent management and brand management experiences. He spent over 15 years as an executive at Marriott International serving in various capacities including, Director of Human Relations, Regional Director of Human Resources, Courtyard by Marriott General Manager, and South Central Regional Brand Director for Courtyard. In each position he served with distinction and received several awards.
In 1997 Deramus became the first African-American franchisees for the Courtyard by Marriott hotel chain in the ground up development of Dallas, TX property. Shortly therefore, he joined with a group of Marriott veterans to form a development and management company, Fairway Hospitality, which focused on select service hotels. The group operated several hotel properties and provided consulting services to third party ownership groups. In 2006, Deramus expanded his hospitality holdings in co-founding MPH Management, which focused on management of distressed properties, asset management, operations trouble-shooting.
Mr. Deramus is a lifetime member of the NAACP and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and serves on the Boards of the International Franchising Association and National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers.
Deramus is a 20 year US Army Veteran LTC (Ret) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Prairie View A&M University and a Master’s Degree in Management and Human Relations from Webster University.
