Michael W. Dunkle II is the Executive Vice President of Capstone Management Service and is responsible for daily operations with a specific focus on operating ratios, guest satisfaction scores, sales and marketing, and associate training.
Mr. Dunkle has over 29 years of hospitality industry experience, and literally grew up in the business. He spent 16 years at Marriott International serving in various capacities including Sales & Marketing with Marriott Hotels Resorts & Suites, National Sales with Fairfield Inn and Courtyard brands, General Manager with Courtyard by Marriott. He also served on several committees focused Brand Development, Hotel Operations and Hotel Sales & Marketing. Dunkle served as Chairman of the Dallas/Ft.Worth Marriott Business Council, which represents 115 Marriott units and over 5,000 Marriott Associates. He was also a member of Marriott’s National Business Council Guidance Team.
Dunkle has received numerous awards including, 1998 Outstanding Performance in Leadership Award/Business Council Chairman of the Year, Marriott Pride/Children’s Miracle Network Award, General Manager of the Quarter and General Manager of the South Central Region. His hotels were in the top 15% of all Courtyards for Associate Satisfaction for six years in a row.
After leaving Marriott, Dunkle spent over 12 years in hotel management. He first joined Fairway Hospitality, serving as VP of Sales and Marketing. He was instrumental in the development of multiple select and extended stay hotels. In 2006 he co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer for MPH Management, which focused on distressed property acquisitions, development and management.
Dunkle has received numerous awards and acknowledgments for his exemplary work. He earned his Bachelor’s in Hotel Management from Purdue University. Mr. Dunkle currently resided in Dallas with his wife and two children.
